Do we ever really sit down and think what wealth is all about.
According to the dictionary it is “abundant or plentiful supply, extravagance, basketful”.
What comes to mind when I think about the word wealth is the words of Jesus in John 10:10 ““The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy; I CAME that they may have life and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (AMPC)
“… I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow! I am the Good Shepherd …” John 10:10-11 TPT
If one looks at the meaning of the words LIFE and ABUNDANCE from the Greek text it is described as follows:
– Life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ. The absolute fullness of life.
– Over and above, exceeding, super-added, superior, extraordinary, more than necessary.
This is the kind of life God had in mind for you from the beginning and it is for this purpose that Jesus came – to give you abundant life in every area; be it in health, relationships, including finances or any other area of need. Meaning restoration in every area.
Your inheritance in Christ is life to the fullest, even in your finances but not focused on finances. It is only part of the package, not the package and we can see that clearly from the scriptures below because it points to the fact that we firstly should be seeking His peace, joy and righteousness. That is where the focus should be, the rest will be added as an outflow of your relationship with Him because He wants you to succeed.
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33 NASB
So many times people think that seeking the Kingdom of God is to work for God or doing the right things, but Romans 14:17 clarifies the core of seeking the Kingdom of God so clearly;
“for the kingdom of God is … righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”(NKJV)
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
If we now look again at what it means to first seek the Kingdom of God, we can see that it comes through first seeking the peace and joy in the Holy Spirit that comes through accepting Christ who gave us His righteousness so that we can be called the righteousness of God in Him.
It is not about our doing, it is about our believing. Where is the focus?
“What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. His pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of “I Am,” meditating day and night in the true revelation of light. He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.(f)” Psalms 1:1-3 TPT
(f) vers 3 – a comment from the Passion Translation: The metaphors found in this verse can be paraphrased as “No matter what he sets out to do, he brings it to a successful conclusion.”
“The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].” Proverbs 10:22
My prayer for you today is that you will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of your life – blessed and ever prosperous and that no matter what you set out to do, you will be successful.
Have a super blessed day
